Podesta-Lucciardi Palace (1819) | |||||||||||||||
|
Rare example of neoclassical architecture, a project of Carlo Barabino (1768-1836), architect and town planner who has left us his masterpiece with Carlo Felice theatre of Genoa (1828). In this palace it is expressed a studied classicism through the use of a smooth ashlar which confers to the structure (flooting, high pillars, cornice) a sober elegance. On the roof, the roof-terrace, is in the shape of a classical small temple, almost an ideal acropolis. Text of M. Marchini
