Ippolito Landinelli Amministrazione Servizi al cittadino Turismo e cultura Manifestazioni Eventi  English version

Of this distinguished family from Sarzana we remind:

  • Vincenzo: Bishop of Albenga from 1616 to 1624. He died in Rome in 1627
  • Antonio: he was appointed doctor by his brother to plead, in Rome, the cause of building the seminary, winning the oppositions of some influential men of the town
  • Ippolito: He was Canon of the cathedral of Sarzana but he is better known as man of letters and writer. His principal work was: “About the origin of the ancient Luni and its destruction, about the town of Sarzana and its most important things, about the country of Lunigiana, about the Church of Luni and its bishops. This work is divided in two treatises

This work, even if it is not strictly historical, was used as a guide by many researchers. The original got lost: there are different copies of it.
