Of this distinguished family from Sarzana we remind:
- Vincenzo: Bishop of Albenga from 1616 to 1624. He died in Rome
in 1627
- Antonio: he was appointed doctor by his brother to plead, in
Rome, the cause of building the seminary, winning the oppositions of some
influential men of
the town
- Ippolito: He was Canon of the cathedral of Sarzana
but he is better known as man of letters and writer. His principal work
was: “About
the origin of the ancient Luni and its destruction, about the town
of Sarzana
and its
most important things, about the country of Lunigiana, about the
Church of Luni and its bishops. This work is divided in two treatises
This work, even if it is not strictly historical, was used as a guide
by many researchers. The original got lost: there are different copies
of
it.
